Can anyone play at the Club?

Yes, the floor is open to anyone. However, the Hope & Anchor does have an over-23 policy. If you are younger than this and would like to play, please contact us.

The organisers typically start and finish the evening. In between slots of two songs maximum are given out on a first-come first-served basis.

Will there be microphones available?

The club is designed to make it as easy as possible for people to turn up and play, so there are no microphones or amplifiers.

is there a charge for entry/playing?

No, there is no charge for entry or playing.

can I borrow an instrument to play?

You might be able to find someone kind-hearted enough to lend you an instrument, but it isn't guaranteed, so it is best to bring your own along.
